Don't mind me, just expressing myself! :D

Posted on May 19th, 2006 by flex22 : Mystic flex22

I've been thinking a lot about whether to give up my pod and instead just blog.Sure I have nearly forty members of my pod: The Appreciation Society. But for those that know me well!, will! know that I don't mix my words. So I'll say that I think it is pretty pointless to join a pod if you're never going to participate.

Sure you may come back at me and say "well I get benefit from reading your posts at the pod, but I don't feel like posting myself"

To which my reply is: "that's absolutely fair enough, but then if that's the case then a blog alone would be enough" In fact you can even comment on a  blog if you ever wanted to, so there's no need for a pod.Pods to me seem like the perfect medium for collaborating on specific projects. However my pod really isn't about that, my pod is really just about expression! And whilst I would dearly love to have a community of people openly expressing themselves, I have found (and it is also a belief) but I have actually found that people seem to think it is always about 'sameness' But you know my pod is not called "The Film Appreciation Society" or "The Sport Appreciation Society" or "The Garden Appreciation Society" It is simply about expressing what you Appreciate, whatever that is! Appreciation is the key, nothing else.

What I have been weighing up is the benefits a pod has over a blog.Of course this is personal to me, I'm writing from my personal experience, and my particular pod.And when I think about it, really, a blog alone would be far better suited. Now I have recognized the value the pod has brought, in that I have received great links from the other members of my pod, to resources concerning our subject of 'Appreciation.' And of course the wonderful posts of other members and the interaction.I fully appreciate these contributions, as few as they have been :) But again I think to myself, most of this could be achieved through a blog.Seeing as though most of the posts at my pod are initiated by me, and then it seems to flow from there, then surely a blog does this job perfectly? Somebody (I) starts a post and then others reply in agreement and add to it or share their personal or different perspective on the subject blogged about.Or just read it! At least with the blog I can see how many views a post has had, so I know it's being read.Blogs work for me.One of my short blogs of only six or so lines had had nearly 200 views. So I really should keep on doing what seems to work for me foremost, and as it happens, what others seem to want most as well.

Of course I knew before creating my pod that not everybody appreciates the same thing. Therefore I may read a post by somebody else and not particularly find the subject they're talking about majorly interesting. But what does pull me to it is the fact that this is someone expressing their appreciation. What the subject is about does not actually matter at all.I certainly don't expect people reading about my football posts to find the subject interesting. But I do expect, and find! that my vibe of joy I exude from those posts rub off on people. That is the key!

However I have become aware that this is a personal experience which I am 'trying' to get others to get in touch with. However if you listen to this convo, which I listened to recently: Mackey-Wilber, you will hear them talk about Communism and how the communist say "if it could just be like this" "if we could just get this part right" Well that is exactly the way I feel with my pod.In that conversation they also mention that "forget about the 100 million people sacrificed in the name of communism in the 20th century" that makes me feel that with my pod I have actually given up a lot of myself, my own power to try and "make things just this way" But enough! the results aren't showing, it isn't "that way" and it has taken a lot out of me, taken my power away, which I will no longer tolerate! (should never tolerate it at all!) so time for a change to what feels right for me.

You know this may sound rather *add your own word here*, but I don't have to do this.Ya know, seriously, I'm not some sort of saint or something, LOL! I don't even have to blog stuff. The other day I wrote down many things to appreciate in my notebook, using pen and paper. From that clarity of thought I brought into my experience many good things almost instantly. However, I admit, it is nice to share ones writings with others (to get it "out there"), and therefore blogging is a good tool.

But podding? for me I have a vision for how good a community of appreciators could be.Interacting only with others who are totally in love with life and realise they're surrounded by blessings, and they're grateful for them all. That's it, simple as that! However after all I have said in this blog post, it all actually comes down to me.I realise that I have a deeply held belief that many people in the world cannot tolerate each others differing opinions, and welcome the diversity and respect each others beliefs, interests and loves. It is like they all have to get into their little clans, their little countries, their little religions, their separate interests, their specific appreciation societies.Build walls around these hoping that nothing will penetrate them. And actually that's a good thing, it's all good!

All walls crumble in the end, and new walls will always be built, but love and appreciation envelops all. Many of the people in this world are not ruled by love alone, which really is the core of all problems. Then again when I think about it, that's all actually a blessing, the contrast which arises from that conflict :) I am ruled by love alone, it's great! :)

I am reminded what AH says:

"PS: It is not necessary for even one other person to understand the Laws of the Universe or the processes that we are offering here in order for you to have a wonderful, happy, productive Life Experience for you are the attractor of your experience. Just you!" ~ Abraham Hicks

That's one hell of a PS: hey!
To know that it all starts with me.Whilst I am grateful for what my pod brought me (ie: this realization) it is time to return to my own power.

So here's the deal, this works best for me! And ya know what , because I am me! I kinda like what works for me! know whatta mean! :D I'm going to just blog from now on.I'm going to just express myself fully as I always do.If others dig this then they can read it, and hey! they can even comment on it.If they don't then tada! I ask nothing from no one,  because my expressing of myself is all I need. When I put out my best all I ever get back is the best, which is all I ever need.

"The only discipline that we would like you to exercise is to make a decision that nothing is more important than that you feel good, and that you are going to find thoughts that feel better.Your cork floating is the only thing that is worthy of discipline" ~ Abraham Hicks

SO RIGHT!

Cheers!

Hi Flex,

Not here to agree or disagree with your decision.  :-)  Just hear to say I think you are one great guy.  I do like that above all, you are doing what is best for 'you'.  No excuses.  There is a lot to be said for doing and saying something like that.  It empowers me, sincerely it does.

You said, “I ask nothing from no one,  because my expressing of myself is all I need. When I put out my best all I ever get back is the best, which is all I ever need.”

Abraham Hicks is great, yes, but this is fantastic.  I'm putting it into my 'Quotes' file I have.

I am glad we have connected and I'm very grateful for that, ya' know… extremely grateful.

Flex,

First off, good reasoning  - do you make all your life decision this way?  It is beautiful.  I particularly appreciate the quote:

'All walls crumble in the end, and new walls will always be built, but love and appreciation envelops all '

I agree with the first part.  Not always with the second (on the good days I do!).

I also like your idea that pods are great for projects, but for expression of ideas, thoughts, other 'gray' matter, a pod may be more appropriate.

Best,
Anna

Thanks Anna.

My reasoning is based on what works best, for me foremost, and that in turn just happens to always end up being what's best for the whole.I see this as the natural way, going with the flow and in line with my higher being, beyond intellectual reasoning and instead being bold enough to stare at reality, and deal with reality, and going with the way I feel.Lao Tzu said this himself when he talked about how the natural way is the way to go.He said it's not perfect, things happen to people, maybe the weak get left behind, some die young etc, but this is still far ahead of any human way.I believe this is where people go wrong, they fall into the trap of the human condition.”Let's make it all ok” they say” or “if everything worked just like this, then everyone would be equal, everyone would be safe and comfortable, it would be paradise!”
(lol funnily enough as I write this Dr Zhivago is on TV in the background.Perhaps it is inspiring me).

But you know what, it never gets like that, it just never does, they never reach this illusionary paradise where everyone acts a certain way.People see the natural world as brutal, they see the lions attacking the wilderbeest. And so they sneer at that and think how much better we humans are.But the reality is that the lions and other predators hardly make any impact to the numbers in the wildebeest herd. The vast vast majority of the wildebeest live out a wonderful free life.Their really is no comparison, the natural way is far better than any human reasoning.

Of course I have not always been impeccable with this, as I have returned to the human condition many times, whereby I try to change others, hope that others will act in a certain way, wish for things to be a certain way so everyone will be alright, and being so consumed in that dreamworld that I do not see the reality of the situation, ie: what is actually! happening.Like Vernon Howard said, there is a way out of the human condition, and this is true. For me, the main thing is to look at results. What are you getting? I mean really what is it about if it is not what you're actually getting, experiencing. What use are words, books, philosophies. In themselves, they're pretty useless.I suppose you could stack some books on top of each other to reach a cupboard high up or something, LOL! But surely a step ladder is far more practical :) If what comes from them does not make the world a better place, then they're useless, simple as!

Going with the way you feel is the natural way.For me self expression feels good.It is writing freely, saying what's on your mind, it is that flow.It just happens.Nothing forces it, it's easy.Like writing this now, it's easy for me, feels good to write out what's on my mind.Feels great! :) And guess what it just so happens that that seems more appreciated by others than when I'm in my state of trying to get others toa ct in a certain way, instead of being true to myself. So first and foremost does it feel good or not? That's the only reasoning you ever really need.

Cheers!

“Going on the Tao Way and abandoning the human teaching,
The multitude of problems due to the temporal morality will disappear.
By giving up the justice done by laws and rules,
The natural justice will emerge.
Renouncing to profit and expensive things,
Society will get rid of thieves and robbers.
By giving up these three things,
Simplicity, naturalness and abundance will be obtained.” ~ Tao Te Ching
