Yet another aweseome idea from a genius creator! (ME! :D)

Posted on Aug 2nd, 2006 by flex22 : Mystic flex22

I just posted this idea over at the "Think" tank LOL! : Profile redesign

Here it is reposted:

Hi.Some of my posts in the thinktank have received no replies. It'd be nice to get a reply to this one, because basically it is awesome (like the others) and if you don't listen to it and implement it then ken wilbers head will explode (or something).Aha, I think I have their attention!

Well, anyway, the idea is to change how the profile page is shown.Well the idea is to have the friends list down the bottom, and the “Things user loves” to the left or right (where the friends list currently is).

Why? Well to be honest I'm more often interested in what peoples interests and loves are than who their friends are.And should I wish to see who their friends are, then I could just scroll down. But what I'm actually interested in, is situated on the bottom half of the page, meaning that I always have to scroll down.Seeing as though the whole width of the page isn't currently used anyway, I see no problem in fitting the things people love area next to the right or left of rest of the profile. And also it's really annoying not just to be able to see my own loves and interests without having to  scroll down the page every time (17” monitor btw!!!!).Like I say I'm more interested in all of that at first sight than seeing who's online or what pods I'm in.

Cheers!

Yes I know, your thinking "what an awesome idea flex. That makes so much sense and works really well! I think you've touched on something important here."

Why thankyou! for the acknowledgement.Sometimes I even surprise myself.Well, nearly!

Cheers! :D

And another (genius idea, that is! :D )

I know I know, I can't help myself! hehe :D

I've not done much blogging lately. However I am subscribed to many other zaadzsters blogs, and I do make comments on them regularly. Therefore my idea is to start blogging the comments I have made elsewhere, and then link them to the source blog from where it was originally posted. This can also be done with blogging pod posts you've made or book reviews, etc.

My thinking on this is that it will help to connect more of us, that "common thread" theme, ie: If you're subscribed to and reading my blog, then you're interested in me and what I've got to say.And so what I'm interested in and commenting on is likely to also interest you.Simple!

Of course if you wish to join the conversation, it's entirely up to you whether you reply to the source blog or to the commentators blog.

Cheers!
